One of the nation’s top high school football players for the class of 2015 has transferred to Bishop Gorman.
Las Vegas should be getting his famous father.
Wide receiver Cordell Broadus, the son of the rapper Snoop Dogg, enrolled Tuesday at the Las Vegas football powerhouse on the first day of the second semester, transferring from Diamond Bar High in Southern California. The family is believed to be moving to the area.
The 6-foot-3, 186-pound Broadus, a consensus four-star recruiting prospect with scholarship offers from the likes of LSU, Notre Dame, USC and Baylor, caught 60 passes for 685 yards and eight touchdowns last fall. He’s ranked as the nation’s No. 18 overall recruiting prospect at his position for the class of 2015 by Rivals.com.
Gorman coach Tony Sanchez said Broadus wouldn’t immediately be available for comment. Multiple Southern California media outlets reported in December that he was leaving.

“He told me that he wants to play for a bigger school to get him ready for college,” Diamond Bar coach Ryan Maine told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune in December. “We’re going to miss his presence at wide receiver. We wish him the best of luck.”
His father, who recently changed his stage name to Snoop Lion, has coached at the youth and high school levels. The Las Vegas area briefly had one of his Snoop Dogg Youth Football Leagues.
Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association eligibility rules require the family to establish residency in Southern Nevada for Broadus to be eligible, meaning Las Vegas will be getting another famous resident.
